Curcumin is a major component of the spice turmeric. One of curcumin’s effects in the body is the control of inflammation.
Inflammation is part of the body’s response to disease and injury; but out-of-control inflammation is a major cause of suffering,
tissue damage, and death. Curcumin, then, is of interest for preventing excess inflammation. It can be applied to a huge variety
of medical conditions in which inflammation plays a role.
Because curcumin is difficult to absorb, Turmeric with Meriva® uses a specialized extract combined with phosphatidylcholine to increase curcumin bioavailability.
What we can’t tell you
In the U.S. and some other industrialized countries, government agencies like the U.S. Food and Drug Administration
have adopted censorship as a method for intensifying their control over the supplement industry and its customers.
Thus, FDA regulations prohibit us from telling you that any of our products are effective as medical treatments,
even if they are, in fact, effective.
Accordingly, we will limit our discussion of Turmeric-Meriva® to a brief summary of relevant research,
and let you draw your own conclusions about what medical conditions it may be effective in treating.
Curcumin has been the focus of much medical research. Among the many medical conditions for which researchers have found it
of value are:
- cancers of many kinds
- peptic ulcer
- inflammatory bowel disease
- rheumatoid arthritis
- mental illnesses
- neurodegenerative diseases
- retinal diseases
LifeLink’s suggested dosage is one capsule (500 mg) one to two times per day with food.
